“What's a pleasure to write is a pleasure to read” is an oft-applied quip to the process of fiction writing. Similarly, instructional design is fundamentally a creative act, and the course development process is inextricably connected to the success of the final product. Therefore, one might also say “what’s a pleasure to design is a pleasure to learn.” So, how can we facilitate smooth processes that are genuinely enjoyable for all involved?
This session will present actionable strategies to do exactly this, with reference to best practices in project management, creativity, teaching, and leadership. While examples will focus on eLearning developed by a team of instructional designers and subject matter experts, the principles discussed will also be broadly applicable to other instructional design contexts.
